Showering Melissa with Love

This weekend Sara, Nat, Jana any myself threw a baby shower for Melissa and baby Luke. It was a great time of fellowship with friends and celebration of the William's upcoming new addition. Congratulations Jonas and Melissa! We can't wait to meet Luke! We love you!

First Ultrasound!

Today I had my first ultrasound! Jana was so sweet to go with my because I wasn't sure Nate was going to be able to make it in time. I was a little nervous about being able to hear the heartbeat because I'm only 5 weeks and 6 days along. Sure enough as soon as she turned on the machine she found the little booger and his/her heartbeat beating at a rate of 118! It was so surreal!! I think that was when it really hit me that there was a baby growing inside me!! Nate was able to catch the end of the ultrasound and see the baby and hear the amazing sound of a heartbeat. I'm so excited for our next ultrasound when we find out if it's a boy or a girl!!

Telling the Parents

This week we shared with both sets of parents our BIG news! On Thursday, Nathan and I stopped by the Ridlehoover's pretty late after a softball game. We were there about 30 minuets before Nate got the courage to tell them that we were going to have a baby! They were both extremely excited and jumped up giving us hugs. On Sunday my parents came in town and we were able to share our news with them too! I had bought a book for my mom called "Someday". It's a book about a mother who has a baby and how she grows up and someday will have a baby of her own. It was the perfect gift! First, I gave them a card and my mom opened it and it took her a little while before she said, "No your not!" over and over again. My dad was clueless for about 3o seconds...then when the lightbulb finally went off, he was speechless and teary eyed. All weekend long dad kept saying, "I can't believe my baby is having a baby".

Last Concert of the Summer

This past weekend we went to the Kenny Chesney concert with the Daniels. It's crazy to think about how fast the summer has come and gone.  The concert was a lot of fun and the weather was great! This was a great way to end the summer and spend time with friends before school starts back up.

Sharing Our News with Friends!

Tonight Nathan and I went out with the Kohouts to Texas Roadhouse. We were not planning on sharing our exciting news so soon but it just seemed like everything worked out perfect for us to tell Brian and Jana that we are expecting. Nate pulled the camera out like he wanted to take a picture of them and right before he snapped the picture he said, "Say Ridlehoovers are having a baby!". Jana's face was so priceless that I just had to share it with you.

We are Expanding!

You guessed it! We are having a baby! Nathan and I are so excited to share our news with you! Our little bundle of joy is set to be delivered around April 25, 2009. We were both completely surprised when we saw those double blue lines pop up! Nathan and I knew that we wanted to start trying this fall but were super excited when God decided we were ready before then :) It was really exciting when we found out we were expecting on 8.8.08, the first day of the Olympics. This will be a great reminder for when we look back and remember the day we found out our blessing was on the way and we were going to be parents!

A Weekend with the Peters

Nathan and I spent the weekend with my best friend Courtney and her husband DJ. On Saturday night we went to the Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts concert with the Peters and the Daniels. It was such an awesome concert, by far the best concert of the summer! After the concert Court and DJ spent the night and spent the day with us on Sunday. It was a great weekend!
